Photographer Doug
Smith has captured images of the likes
of renowned entertainers Diahann Carroll,
B.B. King and Quincy Jones; key political
figures, including former U.S. President
Bill Clinton and U.N. Ambassador Andrew
Young; and civil rights notables Coretta
Scott King, Congressman John Lewis
and Revs. Jesse Jackson Sr. and Al
Sharpton.
Smith has had his work published in national
publications Brides Noir, Glamour
and Upscale magazines, The Atlanta
Journal-Constitution and The Baltimore
Sun.
Doug Smith Photography is on the preferred vendors’ lists for the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel and the Marriott Atlanta Northwest. Smith also is displaying his photographic
art work series, "Snapshots of Sound,"
at various Atlanta-area venues. The series
demonstrates the beauty of musical instruments
specific to symphonic, concert, jazz and marching
bands. "Snapshots of Sound" is one
way Smith—a member of the marching band
in high school and college—pays tribute
to the marching band experience.
A native of Alabama, who has made
a name for himself in his home of
Atlanta, and surrounding areas, Smith
sees photography as a way of using
his God-given talent to create art—capturing
memories that last a lifetime—through
the lens.
He credits that passion, combined
with spiritual direction and the unyielding
support of his wife/partner, Shandra,
with the success of Doug Smith Photography. |
